46 MUNICIPALITIES HAVE BEEN QUALIFIED FOR STRUCTURING OF PUBLIC LIGHTING CONCESSION
On June 3, the Federal Government, through the Ministry of the Regional Development, announced that 46 cities have been qualified for the structuring of public lighting service concession projects.
The perspective of the impact on the modernization of the infrastructure is savings of around 65% of the energy consumption by the public lighting, by adopting LED technology and implementation of smart management and controls.
Eight out of the 46 eligible cities are in the State of São Paulo, namely Aracatuba, Birigui, Guarujá, Itanhaém, Itu, Ribeirão Preto, Santa Bárbara d'Oeste and Votorantim.
The structuring of the projects will be carried out in partnership with the Special Department of the Partnership and Investment Program, with funds provided by Caixa Econômica Federal by means of the Fund for Support to Structuring and Development of Concession Projects and Public-Private Partnerships.
